Construction GM6BIG & GM4ISM plus assistance from GM3SBC.
Justification
To assist research of the potential for tropospheric
openings from the west of Scotland to all of the UK and into continental Europe.
The beamwidth
chosen provides coverage to all of England, Wales, Southern Scotland and much of Northern Ireland. Under tropospheric lift
conditions the beacon should be heard in much of Germany, all of Holland, Belgium, Northern France and much of Eire. Care
has been taken to place the new Air Traffic Control radar in Kincardine within a rear offside null of the antenna so reception in
Scandinavia will be marginal at best.
To assist research into the utilisation
of Aircraft Scatter on different microwave bands from a location in line with most UK flight paths (NW-SE).
Thanks.
Thanks are extended to the following for their help in seeing
this important project through to completion of licensing.

Thank you to everyone who expressed support for the application.
We had a superb response from all over the UK and EU and this helped our application tremendously.
The GB3CSB microwave beacons are only in place in such a superb location thanks to the site
owner and the Central Scotland Repeater Group (CSFMG) and are not subsidised by the repeater group members. The CSFMG
have very kindly provided a link on their website to facilitate donations towards the ongoing running costs of all the GB3CSB
microwave beacons. Please follow the link if you would care to make a donation however large or small, to cover
the GB3CSB site charges. http://www.csfmg.com/GB3CSB.htm Thank you.
